Welcome to Let's Talk About!

Hi all,  And welcome back to a new Let's Talk About..
Sorry about such a long wait, I had lots of things going on between family and creating videos..

But!.. Now I'm focusing back on my blog and my other project..
If you been keeping up with me then you should know which one
I'm talking about.
^.^
So first I want to say that the topic I'm choosing was actually
requested by my very own daughter!
She wishes that it be addressed with you all and the importance of it..
So without anymore rambling,
>.>
Here we go!

This week's topic is............

Bullying

That's right folks, This week I'm going to talk about bullies and their bullying.

or as I like to call it.. HARASSMENT!  Since that is exactly what it is..

So like always, What is bullying?..
Well I have went to my trusty Wikipedia to have a look at their definition,
and this is a part of what I found..
Remember the information below is not mine and credit goes to Wikipedia.

"Bullying is the use of forcethreat, or coercion to abuseintimidate, or aggressively dominate others. The behavior is often repeated and habitual. One essential prerequisite is the perception, by the bully or by others, of an imbalance of social or physical power. Behaviors used to assert such domination can include verbal harrassment or threatphysical assault or coercion, and such acts may be directed repeatedly towards particular targets. Justifications and rationalizations for such behavior sometimes include differences of social class, race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, appearance, behaviour, body language, personality, reputation, lineage, strength, size or ability. If bullying is done by a group, it is called mobbing. "Targets" of bullying are also sometimes referred to as "victims" of bullying.
Bullying can be defined in many different ways. The UK currently has no legal definition of bullying,  while some U.S. states have laws against it.  Bullying consists of four basic types of abuse – emotional (sometimes called relational), verbalphysical, and cyber.  It typically involves subtle methods of coercion such as intimidation."

We've all been picked on at one point in our lives,
I know that I have had my share of it..

when I was young I was bullied, and even physically assaulted by my pursuers.

But eventually that changed and I even became very close friends with one of them.
even till this day I still receive some sort of bullying and normally, it's from adults.

But we all do go through that,  From co workers, bosses, spouses and family, or just a random stranger..

The difference is unlike kids we can fight back! ..

There are studies that tell us how bullying can cause long term mental and health problems, and the majority of victims being harassed generally happens in early to teen age childhood.

I can keep going on and on about the different effects it causes in our society, but I really rather get right to the point about it.

By that I mean that we can raise as much awareness about it but in the end it depends on us..
Like watching a advertisement on the TV, does that mean we will go out and buy the product, go donate money to the cause, or if we are simply told, "Hey do what we say...."
Really?.... do you think we will do what we are told that easily.

We live in a world where high standards have to be met in order to prosper..
If you don't have the criteria, you can't even start a proper life let alone give one to a child..
most children who bully or are bully acceptable are ones who watch the people around them treat others the same, or may have issues of their own that they can't find the help they need.
bullies also avoid their problems by attacking others who may have similar issues as their own..

Now that's not always the case and even children who do not have hard problems can be bullied, but it is those children we need in our world in order to make it better..

why?

Because.. They are more outspoken and can stand up to whats wrong.
These children have the ability to help others feel strong as well and group together to stand for a greater good..

I actually have a message from my very own daughter, the exact one who ask me to use bullying as my new topic.

This is what she wanted to tell everyone, adults and kids all around the world..

"Bullying is cruel!..
If I see someone being bullied, I will walk right up to them and say STOP!,
How would you feel if I bullied you..
It's wrong!

I've had some problems at school with bullying.

There were two girls who would randomly start bugging me, spreading rumors, and even say cruel words..
One day one of them finally stopped since my friend stood up for me.
Since then she even has tried to make her friend (the other girl) stop too..

If you tell them to stop and they don't listen, Tell a adult.. your teacher or even a good friend who you trust..

I know if I am being bullied again, someone will back me up...
There is always someone out there willing to stand for whats right!."

And there you have it, right from a school kids mouth ha ha.

But seriously.. This is the hope for our future children and their children.
That eventually bullying will come to a minimum..
It will never fully go away, but at least we won't have to worry about our own kids hurting themselves, or others if we can show them the right path to take..
But us adults have to take the steps to help them, and the ways to do that is show them there is nothing to fear from bullying.

we will not allow it to effect our future, we will keep moving and not hold on to the negative emotions around us.

That is what I believe is a great way to start!

So that's it for this week's "Let's Talk About.."
And thank you for taking the time to read..
^.^
